Martha Catchings

Martha A. Catchings, 67, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in a local hospital. She was an avid member of The Lost Chord Club and was of the Baptist faith. Her passions in life were her family and her adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Willie Mae Hanley; son, Lewis Van Hooser; one brother and nine sisters. Survivors include her husband, Rocky Berry; children, Clint (Holly) Van Hooser, Rocky (Elisha) Catchings, David Berry, and Angel Berry; grandchildren, Shelby Van Hooser, Honey McCullough and Briggs Catchings; great-grandchildren, Shemar Van Hooser and Kamiya Glass, sister, Judy Patty; and several nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Shannon Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour in the funeral home.
