Babington Deakins

Babington Lampton Hall Deakins died at her home on Lookout Mountain on the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013. She was born to Robert L. and Babington Lampton Hall in Magnolia, Miss. Babington grew up in Chattanooga. After graduating from Randolph Macon College she married S. Lynn Deakins. She was predeceased by her husband; her parents; her brother, Robert L. Hall Jr., who was killed in action in Germany during World War II. She is survived by her sister, Anne W. Hall; her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria Anne Deakins Murray and Chip Murray, of Lookout Mountain; her son, Lynn Lampton Deakins, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Foster Deakins; her grandchildren, Haskell and Katie Murray, Andrew and Megan Murray, Babington Murray, Will and Anne Murray, Anna Murray, Sam Murray, Laura Deakins and Walker Deakins; her great-grandchild, David Murray; and her special friend of 32 years, Pamela Sampson. Babington was a long time member of the Church of Good Shepherd where a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the discretionary fund at the Church of Good Shepherd or a charity of your choice.
