Bob Cross

Robert "Bob" Michael Cross, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. He was 64 years old. He was born in Chattanooga, and was raised in Dade County. Bob joined the United States Air Force in 1969 and served 22 years for our country. He served in Vietnam as a F-4 Phantom Specialist and retired from Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas. Bob moved back to Chattanooga in 1991 and was employed with Wal-Mart in Hixson as a department manager. He was a member of East Brainerd Baptist Church. He loved high school football and was an avid sports fan. Robert is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, John and April Cross, Thomas and Jennifer Cross and Paul and Karin Cross; former spouse, Doris Day Hemphill; daughter-in-law, Felicia Thompson; grandchildren, Benjamin and fianc, Hailey, Daniel, Isaiah, Emilie, William, Jacob, Caleb, Kelli, Niko, Haley, Olivia and Brianna; great-grandson, Franklin; brother, Jack Edward Henry and wife, Diane; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the North Chapel. Services for Bob will be held 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eric Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
