Gerald Matthews

Gerald Matthews, 64, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at Memorial hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rubye Matthews; sisters, Anita Matthews and Harriette Jenkins. Gerald was called Jerry by his family, he loved cars and fried chicken. He is survived by two brothers, Robert (Jewel) Matthews, of Knoxville and Charles (Patricia) Mathews; three sisters, Linda Brabson, of Knoxville, Sheila Phillips, of Flint, Mich., and Miriam (Aston) Sanson, of Atlanta; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and nephews; aunt, Geraldine Matthews, of Flint, Mich.; uncle, Lawell Matthews, of Knoxville. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, in the chapel with the Rev. J.R. Bridgeman officiating. Burial will be in New Gray Cemetery, Knoxville.
