Nancy Herring

Nancy Moore Herring, 60, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013. She was born in Huntsville, Ala., on March 19, 1953. She was a loving, faithful, devoted servant of Jesus Christ, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend that loved and encouraged everyone in her life from her closest relatives to strangers she had never met. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bobbie Moore. She had such faith and she shared that faith every chance she got, whether by sending a book, a movie, a card, or by posting scripture on Facebook. She was not shy at all about sharing her faith in God. Her favorite verse for her life that she often shared with others was: But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31. She attended Silverdale Baptist Church in Chattanooga and loved to be active in womens Bible studies in all the places she lived. Her life was comprised of serving others, spending time with her beloved family and traveling. Despite her circumstances in life, she always put others first and was blessed by serving. Survivors include her husband, Wayne C. Herring; daughters, Courtnie Herring May (Ryan) and Marcie Herring; grandchildren, Laura Kate May and Libby May; sister, Anissa Moore Morton (Patrick); and nephews, John Patrick Morton and Jacob Morton; and niece, Julia Morton. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Fenton officiating. The interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
