PJ Atwell

Atwell, 34, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. A former student of South Pittsburg High School, he was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and had worked as a welder/fitter for the last 8 years, most recently with IBI Power in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eula Gardner and Gene Gardner, of Whitwell. He is survived by his daughters, Cortney Atwell, of New Hope and Abby Allison, of Bridgeport, Ala.; mother, Shelby (Anthony) Newsom, of New Hope; father, John (Sandra) Atwell, of Chattanooga; brother, Calvin Atwell, of New Hope; grandparents, Philip and Chris Kennemore, of New Hope; stepsiblings, Stephanie Cleveland, Susan Cantrell, Hershel Raines, Lathisa Gore and Bubba Newsom; special cousin, Randall Kennemore; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. CST with Rev. Dennis Bunch and Rev. Rodney Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Randall Kennemore, Brad Atwell, Reagan Dykes, Jeremy Brown, Casey Rogers, Matt Kennemore, Shawn Tate and Brian Philpott.
