Pledger Longwith Jr.

Pledger Longwith Jr., 79 of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from Combustion Engineering after 40 years of service and had worked at Stainless tank Co. Pledger was an excellent softball and baseball player having coached the Dixie Youth Baseball at the East Chattanooga Recreational Center. He was an avid Peyton Manning and Tennessee volunteer fan. He was born to the late Pledger and Buelah Mull and was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Longwith and stepfather, Harrison Picklesimer. Survivors include his son, Brad (Michelle) Longwith of Birchwood; and daughter, Terry Ann Longwith (Marshall) Forester, of Chattanooga; two sisters, Dean (B.R.) Mysinger, of Ooltewah, and Alice (George) Masters, of Dublin, Ga.; four grandchildren, Danna Lynn Forester, Bradley, Caleb and Trinity Longwith; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive from 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
