Sis Morgan

Martha Alice" Sis" Morgan, 66, born in Murfreesboro, Tenn., passed away at her home on Signal Mountain on Tuesday, Dec.31, 2013. Sis was surrounded by her husband, son, mother, family and friends. Sis is preceded in death by her father, Herman "Wormy" Jones; and her son, James David Morgan. Sis received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Middle Tennessee State University. Sis shared her love of learning and children at UTC, Bright School and The Apple Tree Pre School. Sis was an amazing athlete. She played basketball, tennis and golf. She was also an avid runner. Anyone who met Sis always remarked about her infectious smile and positive attitude. Once you met Sis, you were considered a part of her life. She loved people and animals. The family of Sis Morgan wishes to thank her Hospice of Chattanooga nurses and doctor for their loving and caring concern of not only Sis but her entire family. Sis is survived by her husband, Jim Morgan; son, Christopher Morgan; mother, Maxie Jones; daughter-in-law, Stephanie (James D.) Morgan; grandsons, Stephen Jones, Weldon Morgan; brother, David H. (Kathy) Jones; nephews, Michael D. and Gregory T. Jones; niece, Angela Morgan; nephew, Ty Morgan. Mrs. Bill (Joyce) Morgan, William (Paula) Tyler Morgan, Angela (Jim) Morgan, Laura Morgan, Frances Tyler (Louise) Morgan, Robin Morgan, Gill Morgan, Billie Neil and Carmel Wallace and many other Morgan family members. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Lane Funeral Home 601 Ashland Terrace with the Rev. and Honorable Sam Payne and Dr. Hunter Huckabay officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: David H. Jones, Michael D. Jones, Gregory T. Jones, Jeff Jennings, Royal Varner and E.D. Seay. Honorary Pallbearers will be: The UTC Wrestling Team and The Baylor Wrestling Team. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Community Kitchen at 727 E. 11th St., Chattanooga, TN 37403.
