Gary Beal

Gary Roger Beal, 64, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in Chattanooga. He was born in Rogersville to Harry M. "Mark" Beal, who precedes him in death, and Janelle Dykes Beal. In his younger years, Gary was an announcer for WRGS Radio Station, he then joined the U.S. Army, becoming a Vietnam Veteran, a member of the VFW #1289 Cooper T. Holt Post, the Disabled American Veterans and ASCPA. He was also a retiree of TVA. Gary was a loving husband, father, son and friend to many, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He leaves his wife of 42 years, Brenda Helton Beal; son, Roger (Katie Barrett); mother, Janelle Beal; mother-in-law, Ruby Helton; aunt, Virginia Gipson; brothers-in-law, Robert (Elizabeth) Helton and Terry (Jennie) Helton; sister-in-law, Peggy (Lawrence) Smith; cousins, Kirby and Dennis Carpenter, Phillip Beal, Linda Poe, Nancy Livingston, Pam Mayo, Nancy Gregg and Carolyn Gilliam, Joan Jaynes, Joy Byrd, Brenda Shanks, Jack, Randall and Billy Johnson; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, Jan. 4, 2014, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home with Rev. Lawrence Smith and Rev. Ed Horner officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Rogersville, with Military Honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard and the Hawkins County Color Guard.
