Mary Dent

Mary Ellen Dent, 80, of Hixson, was welcomed home by her heavenly father on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, with her loving family by her side. Mary was a member of the New Vision Worship Center. She retired from Piccadilly. Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Nancy and Oscar Holloway; sisters, Alice Smith, and Barbara Fisher; brothers, Buck, Red, Oscar Jr., George, Bobby, Jackie Holloway; and granddaughter, Brandi Cranfield. Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Edward Dent, son, Larry Dent; daughters, Donna (Jimmy) Cranfield, Susan (Fred) Agee, Angela (Mark) McLaughlin; sisters, Faye Spicer, Betty Ables; grandchildren, Shannon Dent, Larry Dent II, Miranda (Jason) Lusk, Chad (Mimi) Marler, Aleasha Agee, Amanda McLaughlin, Zach (Tracey) McLaughlin, Josh Cranfield; great-grandchildren, Austin, Avery, Emilee, Garrett Dent, Riley, and Braxton Burton, Sarah and Jacob Winchester and Macon Marler. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
