Shirley Combs

Shirley Combs, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and retired from TVA with over 20 years of service. Shirley was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother who raised her children as a single mother. Shirley was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Shuster and Frances Norman; and her brothers, L.D., Mendal and C.L. Longley. Survivors: one daughter, Cindi (David) Arendale, Hixson; one son, David Combs, Hixson; sister, Rose Woodbury; granddaughters, Heather Combs and Madison Mehaffey; grandsons, Christopher Combs and Brady Arendale The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today, Jan. 7, 2014, at Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. in the Chapel with Minister Gary Massey officiating.
