Evelyn Christine "Chris" Landress, 85, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. The daughter of the late Thomas and Carrie Oliver. She was a longtime member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Genesis Sunday School Class. Survived by loving husband, Ben S. Landress, of Chattanooga; son, Jimmy Rhea (Elaine) Cross, of Ringgold, Ga.; grandchildren, Dee Dee Cross Richardson, Lori Bowers and her husband, Dr. Patrick Bowers; six great-grandchildren, Gabriel Benjamin Richardson, Ellie Bowers, Patrick Bowers III (Joey), Frannie Bowers, Penny Bowers and Lovie Bowers; three sisters, Joyce Gillard, of Ringgold, Joan Shaw, of Chickamauga, Ga., Dorothy Mullis of Rossville; one brother, Charles Oliver, of Ringgold; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews including her favorite Tonya and Monica Crabtree. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Ridegdale Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Owens and Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Genesis Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 8, 2014, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and from noon until 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Ridgedale Baptist Church.
