Edward Wilkie

Edward Franklin Wilkie, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday morning, Jan. 4, 2014. He was retired from the Bank of Dade where he served as president from 1958 until 1983, a member of the Lions Club and Masonic Lodge of Pickens County. He graduated from North Georgia College and State University with Honors. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy and a member of Ascalon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by Ellene Wilkie; daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Wilkie; sisters, Flondell Cagle and Edna Mae Beasley. Survivors include wife, Mary Lou "Jo" Wilkie, of Trenton; daughter, Rebecca "Becky"(Arthur) Baker, of Birmingham, Ala.; step-children, Martha (Danny) Rowell and David (Debbie) Brown, both of Trenton; grandchildren, Joshua Lewis, Staci Causby, Brandy Nix, Dustin Lewis, Griffin Goble, and Jesse Lewis; five stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren; brother, Earl (Evelyn) Wilkie, of Jasper, Ga.; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. today, Jan. 8, 2014, in the chapel with the Rev. Jerry Atkins and Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
