Gifford Walker

Gifford Lunn Walker, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014. Giff who was 90 years young, and loved attending dances with his wife, Jean Tew Walker, is also survived by son, Gifford Edgar Walker and daughter, Barbara Walker Harris and his extended family who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Ruth Adele Graf Walker of 58 years. Giff served in the Navy and was a retired draftsman for Combustion Engineering. Volunteering became second nature to Giff as shown by his 20,000 hours over 13 years at Erlanger Medical Center and Red Cross. He was also active at the United Methodist Church, Harrison Elementary and the Lions Club. His love of people drove him to be a relentless servant with a loving heart, big smile and hugs for all. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Harrison United Methodist Church, 5621 Highway 58, Harrison, TN 37341. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
