Mary Walker

Mary Agnes Taylor Walker, 84, went home to be with The Lord Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. She was born in Kenvir, Ky., to the late Dave A. and Versie Jordon Taylor. She was a longtime resident of Rock Spring. She retired from Synthetic Industries after 28 years of employment. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxillary at Hutcheson Medical Center. She was a longtime member of Rock Spring Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family and her church family. She enjoyed traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains and to Florida. She was a avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed going to the games or watching them on TV. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank Walker; sons, Gene Walker, Billy Walker; and a sister, Hazel Bingham. She is survived by her children, Eddie (Denise) Walker, of Rock Spring, Jo (Donnie) Burrows, of Chickamauga, Ga., Frankie (Darlene) Walker, of Rock Spring, Ga.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. today and Friday morning prior to the service. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Rock Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the service. Interment will follow in Chickamauga Cemetery. Online register book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.
