Patricia Williamson

Patricia Ann "Patsy" Williamson, 76, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8 2014. She was born and raised in Chattanooga and attended local schools and The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Patricia earned a B.S. in Home Economics from UT Knoxville, and a M.Ed. from UT Chattanooga. She taught Home Economics at Central High School in Chattanooga for 27 years, retiring in 1995. She received many honors and awards during her teaching career. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers Society. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Henry Thomas; and mother Lorine McJunkin Thomas. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Rufus Williamson IV; and by four wonderful children, Lynn (Jim) Ireland, Rufus Williamson V (Liza), Kay (John) Entrekin, and Roger (Karen) Williamson; and nine grandchildren, Natalie (Peterson) Hostetler, Steven Andrew (Amanda and daughter, McKenzie) Kizziah, Ryan Williamson, Sam Williamson, Anna Williamson, Savannah Entrekin, Rebecca Entrekin, Taylor Williamson and Jeremy Williamson. Also by her sister, Carolyn Massoud; and brother, Larry Thomas. Patsy loved to travel abroad to visit friends and family as well as vacation time. She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church and the McFerrin Sunday School class where she was a member for 51 years and served as president for a time. Visitation from 6-8 p.m. today, Jan. 10, will be at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel on Moore Road. The funeral service will be held at Brainerd United Methodist on Brainerd Rd at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Dr. Dennis Flaugher and Rev. Mark Davis. There will be a visitation in the McFerrin Chapel beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be at Brainerd United Methodist Church Cemetery following the service.
