Sharon Burney-Knox

Sharon Rene Burney-Knox, 53, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, in a local hospital. She formerly was a UTC librarian. She was preceded in death by her father, Joshua W. Burney Sr.; grandmother, Rosa Williams; husband, James Knox; and sister-in-law, Twilight Burney. Survivors include her mother, Edith (Bishop Sims) Bledsoe; brother, Joshua W. Burney II, both of Chattanooga; sisters, Pamela Higginbotham, of Nashville and Angela Cuff, of Lithonia, Ga.; a host of devoted stepbrothers, stepsisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; devoted cousin/"sis", Valerie Taylor Perry and many other cousins and friends. The body will lie-in-state after 1 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel with Bishop Sims Bledsoe as the eulogist. Burial: Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
