Claude Petty

Claude L. Petty, 65, of Rossville, formerly of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014. He was of the Baptist faith and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Claude graduated from the Chattanooga Police Academy in 1976 and was a former police officer with the Soddy-Daisy Police Department. He retired from TVA where he was an information specialist. Claude was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Petty; parents, Claude W. and Betty Petty; and sister, Pamela Harvey. Survivors include his wife, Judy Petty; son, Billy (April) Petty; daughter, Angela (Don) Johnson; step-children, Scott Adair, Eugenia Brownfield, Charles Burnette and Martin Burnette; grandchildren, Will, Kaleb, Katie and Stephanie; sisters, Joyce (Harold) Johnson, Carla (Randy) Cooley and Janet Stephens. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Casey Westra officiating. Visitation is from noon to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at National Cemetery with military honors.
