Dorothy Scott

Dorothy Scott, 77, passed on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. She was a lifelong member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church and a 1954 graduate of Howard High School. She retired from Hamilton County Juvenile Court as a clerk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie F. Scott; parents, John and Laura Thomas Sr.; son, Reginald Scott; daughter, Yolanda Scott; brother, John Thomas Jr.; sister, Frances Thomas; and niece, Juanita Thomas. Survivors include son, Kevin (Tawaina) Thomas; daughter, Karen Scott; nephew, Gerald Thomas; special friend, Marie Jordan, all of Chattanooga, a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Jackson officiating. Interment in Highland Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
