Herbert Miller

Herbert Wayne Miller, 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014. He was born in Dekalb County, Ala., to the late, Earley and Julia Ann Sears Miller, but has lived in the North Georgia area since 1982 and was of the Baptist faith. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War having served two tours with the 82nd Airborne Division and retired in 1982 after more than 21 years of service to his country. He was a lifetime member of the VFW 4848 in Chattanooga and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd Miller and William Earley Miller Jr.; and his companion, Candy. Survivors include his loving wife of more than 22 years, Brenda Smith Miller, of Rossville; his children, Wayne Miller, of Mentone, Ala., Mark Miller, of Henegar, Ala., Tammy Smelser, of Ocala, Fla., Kenneth Cone, of Flintstone, Ga., Teresa Broome, of Rossville, and Chris Ripple of Flintstone, Ga.; sister, Thelma Miller, of Rock Springs, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his companion, Bear.
