Virginia Patterson

Virginia Evelyn Grubb Patterson, 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014. She was born in Bristol, Tenn., to the late Samuel and Mamie Moore Grubb and had lived in Bristol as well as the Florida, Cleveland and North Georgia areas. She was a member of Pentecostal Deliverance Church and was employed with Avon for more than 47 years. She was always active and lived life to the fullest. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Lee Grubb and Mack Grubb; and nephew, Michael Grubb. Survivors include her loving husband of more than 63 years, Charles Oscar Patterson, of Rossville, Ga.; two children, Corena Fae Patterson Parrish, of Ringgold, Ga., and Hubert Wayne Patterson, of Rapid City, South Dakota; two sisters, Zelma Wright, of Bristol, Virginia and Irene Combs, of Bristol, Tenn.; four grandsons, Joe and (Whitney) Patterson, Wesley Patterson, Cortney and (Trisha) Parrish and Cavin Parrish; 5 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Bro. Adam Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. today, all day Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
