Dennis Brown

Dennis R. Brown, 89, of Chattanooga, went to be home with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014. Dennis was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Dennis was the first draftee of the U.S. Army to serve in the Korean War. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rella Womack and Samuel A. Brown; three brothers, Ramond Austin Brown, Quinten Allen Brown and Charles David Brown; sister, Zella E. Cambell. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Irene Morgan Brown; sister, Virginia Kathleen (Gerald) Carter; sister-in-law, Dorothy Cartwright Brown; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. today, Jan. 17, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Clark officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Dennis name to Oakwood Baptist Church in Chattanooga, or the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.
