Charles Roberts

Charles Roberts, 99, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, in a local healthcare facility. He was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Westfield, N.J., to the late Adolfh and Pauline Kropaczek. He was a United States Coast Guard Veteran of World War II and was retired from Arnold Co. after many years of service. Mr. Roberts was a member of Brainerd Church of Christ. His wife, Winnie E. Roberts; brothers, Vic, Edward and Rudy Kropaczek; and sister, Virginia Wargo preceded him in death. Survivors include his sisters, Pauline Lahita and Mary Zawislak, both of Toms River, N.J.; nieces, Barbara Holt and Margaret Jenkins, both of Chattanooga; nephew, Joey Zawislak, of Troy, Mich.; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today in the East Brainerd Chapel with Minister John Cupp and Minister Jerry Weldon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
