James "Jimmy" Franklin Davis, 60, passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014. A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, he was a former employee of SeaBoard Farms where he worked for 20 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Audrey Lee Hullender Davis; sister, Linda Louise Davis; and brother, Arnold Edward Davis. Jimmy is survived by brother, John Lee (Barbara) Davis, of Crossville, Ala.; six sisters, Mary Ann Plott, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Jean Conner, of Locust Grove, Ga., Carolyn (Arvin) Bryson, of Ringgold, GA., Geneva (Thomas) Stockburger, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Elaine (James) Rayfield of Ringgold, and Cynthia (Eddie) Thomason, of Ringgold; and the proud uncle of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Tim Bryson officiating. Interment will follow at Gordy Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday until funeral time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Association.
