Barbara Jones

Barbara A. Jones, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at Erlanger Medical Center. A lifetime resident of Rhea County, Barbara was the daughter of the late Willard and Tennie Harris Nixon. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kelly Grove Baptist Church in Dayton. Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband Howard Jones, second husband Henry A. Jones and brother Jim Nixon. Survivors include her children Deb (Billy) Edington, of Spring City, Bobby Jones, of Knoxville and Donna Jones, of Dayton; stepchildren Sue (David) Bell, of Ringgold, Ga., Brenda Price, of Soddy, and Tresha (Andrew) Glowacki, of Texas; sisters Mary Ann Tilley and Phyllis McClure both of Kingston; brothers Bill Nixon, of Arizona, Pat Nixon, of California, Donnie Nixon, of Spring City and Gary Nixon, of Dayton; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.
