Florence Kenner

Florence G. (Simpson) Kenner, 77, of Hixson, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014. She was born on Feb. 12, 1936. She was an Avon lady for over 25 years, an avid garage sale shopper, and loved bluegrass music. She was a member of Middle Valley Church of God. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar A. Sands, and mother, Ida Mae Strevel; brothers, Jack Sands, Lennis Sands, Thomas Sands, Bruce Sands; sisters, Joyce Sands, and Doris Sands. Survivors include her husband, John Kenner; sons, Rex (Sissie) Simpson, of Soddy-Daisy, and Randy Simpson, of Ringgold; daughters, Stephanie (Marty) Ferris, Marsha Faye Lee, and Sharon Booker; brother, Robert (Carolyn) Sands, 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Mitch McClure officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home. The family offers special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga Crisis Center, Memorial Hospital South, especially granddaughter, Shawnah Blevins for her love and care, and grandson, Brian, and Janet and Lauren Simpson.
