James Greene

James Millage Greene, 95, of Chattanooga, died peacefully, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at The Terrace at Mountain Creek. A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Greene was the owner of Browning & Hamilton, a mens clothing store. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifelong member of Second Presbyterian Church. Mr. Greene will be remembered for his smile and his love of his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Margaret Greene. Survivors are his daughter, Kathy Adams, of Spartanburg, S.C.; granddaughters and their husbands, Alycen and Kevin Moss, of Atlanta, and Mindy and Roger Edwards, of Washington, DC; and five great-grandchildren, Anna Moss, Katherine Moss, Millage Edwards, Alice Edwards and Roger Edwards IV. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, at Second Presbyterian Church, 700 Pine St., Chattanooga, with Dr. Perry C. McCallen officiating. The burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or to Second Presbyterian Church.
