William Ivey

William Lewis "Big Ive" Ivey, 71, of Apison, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, in a local hospital. A longtime resident of Hamilton County, he was retired from Combustion Engineering after 28 years. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was an avid painter. He was a member of Apison Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Juanita Ivey; and son, Bill Ivey. Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Caroline Ivey; daughter, Rhonda (Bob) Jones, Nashville; sisters, Wanda Drain, Dalton, Ga., Shirley (Tim) Jenkins, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jeanette Garrett and Pattie (Doug) Hudson, both of Cleveland; grandchildren, Meghan Lowry, Dylan Ivey and Cleve Jones; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Plowman Cemetery with Rev. Tylan Blansit and Rev. Bob Dasal officiating. Pallbearers will be Carl Humphreys, Karey Humphreys, Josh Thomas, A.J.
