Bobby Espy

Bobby Espy, 64, after spending a perfect week and being blessed with the honor of serving as best man in his middle son's wedding along with his other two sons, and sharing an enjoyable vacation time with his wife and family, was called home to be with Jesus and continue the celebration of life with Him in heaven on Friday, May 30, 2014. Bobby was a 1968 graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended UTC for two years. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve and after completing gunnery school in Great Lakes, Ill., he was stationed at Mayport Naval Base where he served as a gunner's mate. Bobby worked, beginning at age 17, at his granddaddy Hotrod's after-market car parts store "Honest Charley's Speed Shop" until it closed in 1989. He continued to work in the after-market industry until his retirement and has worked part-time for "Sam's Club" and "Steinmart" ever since. Bobby was preceded in death by his loving parents, Mr. And Mrs. Bob Espy, and much admired grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Espy and Mr. and Mrs. Charley Card. He is survived by wife, ZeeVonia Espy; sons and daughters-in-law Casey and Courtney Espy, Tanner and Maegan Espy, and Logan Espy; his sister and her husband, Amy and Joe Lombardo; and his brother and his wife, Charley and Melissa Espy. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Korbet Swope officiating. The interment will follow at the National Cemetery.
