Edith Davis

Edith Hamby-Davis, 82, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014. Edith was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Edith is preceded in death by her daughter, Lou Ann Davis-Dean; her parents, Ples and Louisa Hamby. Edith is survived by her husband of 68 years, Glenn Davis; three sons, Jerry (Karen) Davis, Harold (Karin) Davis and Tom Davis; son-in-law, Donnie Dean; three adopted sons, Danny Rendon, Ruben Rendon and Jerry Davis Jr.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends today, June 2, from 2-8 p.m. and Tuesday, June 3, from noon-2 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel. Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor J.D. Gibson officiating. Interment will follow to Chattanooga Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Edith's name to New Life Baptist Church.
