Barbara Baker

Barbara Jean Smith Baker, 80, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, and was reunited with her late husband, Chester B. "Jack" Baker. Barbara was born in Soddy and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. She was a graduate of Soddy-Daisy High School and retired from Boyd Buchanan with over 20 years of service. Barbara was a member of Tyner Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, James William and Sarah Jane Petty Smith; siblings, Faye Hatfield, Newel Smith and "Mookie" Smith. Barbara is survived by her children, Rene Arthur and spouse, Shannon, Vickie Lynn Semegran and Jack L. Baker and spouse, Monique; grandchildren, Diana Semegran, Landon and Nolan Baker; siblings, Sue Smith, Larry Smith, Betty Ruth Parker and Bill Smith; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at the North Chapel. A graveside service will follow today at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Devotion at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Minister John Cupp officiating.
