Norma Fincannon

Norma Beck Fincannon, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014. Norma was born to the late Herman and Julia Stoesser, May 17, 1933, in Queens, NY. She graduated from John Adams High school in 1950. In April 1986, Norma married the late Al George Fincannon, her beloved husband of 28 years. Norma spent most of her life as a homemaker and in later years worked and retired from the Chancery Court of Hamilton County. She was an active member of First-Centenary Methodist Church. Norma treasured the traveling and social events she did with her late husband, Al. She loved cooking, gardening, and decorating; and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and eloquent sense of style. She is preceded in death by her stepbrother, William Beksinski, of Hollywood, Fla.; and her stepsister, Helen Ninnis, of Silverdale, Wash. Norma is survived by her two children, Robert Beck, of Duluth, Ga., and Ellen Newman, of Chapel Hill, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Centenary Permanent Endowment Fund. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers at The Terrace at Mountain Creek and Home Comfort. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home, with the Funeral service to follow. Burial will be held in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tennessee 37343.
