Charlie Cheatwood, 86, died Monday, June 9, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Cheatwood was preceded in death by his wives, Aileen Cheatwood and Sarah Mae Cheatwood; daughter, Sharon Cheatwood; son, Michael Cheatwood; brothers, Jim, Monroe "Red" Cheatwood; half brothers, Verlin, Brady, Duel Culver; sisters, Lois Mays, Bobbie Jean Stokes, Ozella Shankles, Virginia Weathers, Evelyn Hughes. Survivors include companion and caregiver, Bessie Shirley, of Henagar; special friend, Gray Shirley, of Henagar; daughter-in-law, Debra Cheatwood, Section; stepdaughter, Deborah Farmer, of Valley Head; sisters, Linda OShields Perkins, of Fort Oglethorpe, Willodean Langford, of Rossville; half brother, Alvie Culver; four stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren. Special thanks to Bessie Shirley and her children. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, June 11, from Kerby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Jordan and Anthony Hammontree officiating.
