John Hambrick

John Steven "Tim" Hambrick, 45, departed this life on Thursday, June 5, 2014, in Chattanooga. He was born Nov. 5, 1968, to Diane Hicks and Steven Hambrick. He was a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Church. John graduated from Brainerd High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He recently completed a supervisory program at Chattanooga State Technical College. He was employed with Regis Corporation. He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Hambrick; grandmother, Florence Hicks; grandfather, Sylvester Hicks. He leaves to cherish his mother, Diane Hicks; two children, Jacque and Jade Hambrick; brothers, Michael (Shameka) Stephens and Hakeem Hambrick; god-brothers, Charles Beard and Orlandus Knight; sister, Sonja (Steven) Newbill; god-sister, Sonia (Phillip) Fields; nephew, Michael Stephens II; niece, India Hambrick; uncles, John Hicks and Melvin Hambrick; devoted cousins, Shirley Russell and Tracey Brown; several other nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and dear friend, Jacci Hambrick McKenzie; godmother, Barbara J. Bates; Jay Blount; and special friend, Barron Peterson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, located at 914 Park Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403 with Pastor Jimmy Ingram, officiating. Interment at 1:30 p.m. at National Cemetery. The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
