Bill Thompson

William "Bill" Harrison Thompson, 51, of Chattanooga, adored husband, father, brother and friend, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Thompson; and mentor/godparents, Dr. Yeu Quang and Michon Wong. Bill spent the majority of his career as an ICU Nurse at Erlanger Medical Center. He was a student of life and embraced each day with the opportunity to love and learn. In the past several years, through his passion for the power of natural healing, he became a licensed Massage Therapist and Meditation Guide. He was a 7th generation Kung Fu practitioner of teacher and mentor Dr. Yeu Quang Wong. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. Bill will be profoundly missed by so many that loved him: His loving wife of 19 years, Leanne; father, Johnny Thompson; children, Summer (Suzanne) West, Patrick (Brandy) Skinner, and Zack (Sarah) Thompson; siblings, Kelly (Alvin) Sims, Michael (Jean) Thompson, Michelle (Joe) Lewis, and Amanda Thompson; grandchildren, Haley and Ryan West; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the Chester Frost Park Pavilion from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 15. There will be no services or visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bill Thompson Memorial Fund at DuPont Community Credit Union.
