Jim Johnson

Merrell "Jim" W. Johnson, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday March 1, 2014. He was 98 years old. He was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area and served our country during World War II in the Army. "Jim" retired from Peerless Woolen Mills and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helen. "Jim" is survived by his brothers, Blair and Urban Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Services for Jim will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors.
