Diane Laymon

Diane Beene Laymon, 61, of Sale Creek, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of the Soddy-Daisy and Sale Creek area. Diane attended school in Soddy-Daisy and worked at Winn Dixie from its opening to closing. Her previous work was done at Buster Brown Apparel. She enjoyed the outdoors, flowers and most of all, her family. Diane was kind hearted, funny and a joy to be around. She was always doing something to help someone. She never met a stranger. Her sense of humor, wittiness and laughter will be missed by so many. Diane had not been in the best of health for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Otis Beene Jr. She is survived by her son, Johnny Laymon; daughter, Jana Laymon Solomon; brother, Richard (Paula) Beene; two grandsons; a niece; a nephew; and a great-nephew. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Alan Stewart as officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Chris Beene, Johnny Beene, Tim Beene, Bo Huff, Justin Rumor and Randolph Stitcher serving as pallbearers. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Special thanks to Sharon and Phyllis for all their love and care not as just family but loyal friends over the years.
