Richard Davidson

Richard Alan Davidson, 58, of Chattanooga passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014. Richard was born in Alabama, but lived in Chattanooga, all his life. He graduated from Central High School in 1973, and became a certified machinist at Chattanooga State technical college. Richard worked at Mueller Company for the past 35 years, as a machinist and had many friends there that called him Hippie. He was a member of the Local 56 IAMAW workers union. He was a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church. Richard loved to ride his Harley Davidson, traveling, music, and spending time with loved ones. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Davidson; and grandson, Kyle Jordan. Richard is survived by his wife, Sherrie G. Davidson; mother, Patricia Croley Davidson; daughters, Sarah Beth Davidson, Hanah Leah Davidson, Kristyn Ashley Germann; sister, Jan (Jack) Bennett; grandchildren, Damian Hawkins, Kasey and Emily Davidson, niece, Kelly (Scott) Sheets, and nephews, Kurt and Jake Bennett. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, March 4, at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday March 5, at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family wants to thank the Hospital staff at Memorial Hospital for Richards care, especially Mike Fuller, Daniel, Darwin, and Rebecca, also thank you for making the wedding so special.
