Alonzo Hood Sr.

Alonzo Shackelford Hood, Sr., 63, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at his home. Alonzo was born in Lawrence County, Ala., on Sept. 1, 1950. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Alonzo was self-employed as a carpenter in the furniture business. Alonzo was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Alice Hood and Edward Shackelford Jr.; brother, Alvin Hood. Survivors include his children, Christine Hood Fuqua, Natasha Hood (John) Wade, Cedric (Jasmine) Hood, Lanise Hood (Chris) Featherstone, Alonzo (Patricia) Hood Jr., Rodney, Lorenzo and Yvonntta Hood; two brothers, Percy Chapman and Levert Hill; 21 grandchildren, Richard Hood, Kendale Fuqua, Tyresha and Dequan Fuqua, JNiya and DiQuanta Hood, Lorenzo Jr., Lakeia, Delanues, Khaliyah, Lavarius, and Lyden Hood; Briana Hood, Alonzo Hood, Jr., Latricia and Lakeda Hood, Milan, Malachi and Messiah Hood, Geonta and Trey Gaines; one great-granddaughter, Heavenley Gaines; a host of special family and friends.
