Rob Parham

Robert Newsome Parham, 44, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Rob was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and was treated at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute. Mr. Parham was born to John Carter Parham and Leila Kucewicz Parham on Sept. 14, 1969 in Chattanooga. He was a descendant of a pioneer Chattanooga family. He graduated from McCallie School in Chattanooga, and received a BA from Emory University in Atlanta. Mr. Parham was a documentation analyst for the Lockheed Martin C130J Program. "Rob" as he preferred to be known by his wide circle of friends and family, met his wife, the former Susan Wells of New Orleans, La. in Atlanta. Rob had been part of the vibrant music scene there, while he played with the bands William Carlos Williams and Bon Vivants, among others. He also had an avid interest in photography and video, as well as a love of science fiction. He was considered a very thoughtful and insightful man. Mr. Parham was predeceased by his grandparents, Carter M. and Willie Parham, of Chattanooga and William J. and Mary N. Kucewicz, of New York and Florida. He is survived by his wife, Susan Wells Parham; parents, John and Lee Parham; brother, Carter Parham (Cathy); nephew, Jackson Parham; and niece, Emmeline Parham and a cousin Bettye Stein. Visitation will be a 2 p.m. and the service at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the McCallie School, Winship Cancer Institute, or to First-Centenary United Methodist Church.
