Canary Greene

Canary Jane Moody Greene, age 100 years and six months, of the Westmoore Community in Moore County, N.C., went to her home in heaven on Sunday evening, March 2, 2014. Toward the end of her days, she happily anticipated seeing her Lord, dear husband, Lacy, daughter, father, mother, and brother, and others who had preceded her. She is survived by daughters, LaVaughn Greene Lewis (Ray), of Asheboro, N.C.; Teresa Greene Simmons (Randy Duke), of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Pamela Lewis, of New York; Derinda Lewis, of Florida, Bart Lewis (Allison), of Burlington, N.C.; Cole Simmons; Mindi Simmons Hudson (Matt), of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Macy Lewis, Seth Lewis, Logan Simmons and Ava Grace Simmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Needhams Grove Baptist Church, 359 Needhams Grove Road, Seagrove, NC 27341; to Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Union Grove Church Road, Seagrove, NC 27341; or to the Ronald McDonald House, Chattanooga. Funeral services will be held at Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro. Burial will follow in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 705, Seagrove, N.C.
