Michael Phy

Michael Wayne "Mike" Phy, 59, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, in a local hospital after losing his battle with cancer. He was of the Baptist faith. Mike was preceded in death by his only son, Michael Wayne Phy II; his parents, Bill and Marie Phy; and an older brother, Bobby Fred Bailey Jr. Mike was a 1973 graduate of Lakeview High School. He was voted "Mr. Warrior" of the football team in 1973, his senior year. He lived in Chattanooga and the North Georgia all of his life and was employed by Wal-Mart of Brainerd. Mike's many friends knew him as true blue. He loved life to the fullest, he loved to laugh and giggle and will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his loving wife, Carol; brother, Steve (Cindy) Phy, Ringgold, Ga. Several nieces and nephews A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday afternoon at Lane Funeral Home South Crest Chapel, 833 Chickamauga Ave., Rossville.
