Harold Hill

Harold Richard Hill, 76, died on Sunday, March 9, 2014, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Anderson, Ind., on Dec. 19. 1937. Harold graduated from Toccoa Falls Institute, Toccoa Falls, Ga., in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years. He retired from Combustion Engineering. Harold was a member of Flintstone Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Marie Pinkerton Hill to whom he was married on Aug. 21, 1959; his mother, Betty Marie Hardin hill; his father, Bonn Hill; step-mother: June Hill. Survivors are his son, Robert (Tami) Hill, of Chattanooga; daughter, Bettye (Brent) Smith, of Flintstone, Ga.; grandsons, Josh Smith, Franklin, Tenn., Lance Corporal Jake Hill, USMC, Jacksonville, N.C., and Slater Hill, Chattanooga; granddaughters, Kelcie Hill, Chattanooga, Azucena Caballero, Flintstone; siblings; sister, Carolyn Susie Hill, Fort Wayne, Ind.; his brother, Mark Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Loyce (James Thomas) Fricks, Flintstone, Ga.; and several nephews. The memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at Flintstone Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the service at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
