JoAnn Taj

JoAnn Morris Taj, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 09, 2014. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga, north Georgia, and Stone Mountain area. She was a 1962 graduate of Rossville High School and received her bachelor's degree in Christian Studies from Covington Theological Seminary. She was an artist having worked at Olan Mills, Jimmy's Photo and TVA. She was currently employed at State Farm in Chickamauga. JoAnn enjoyed helping others and she volunteered her time in numerous ways touching the lives of many people. She volunteered as a Chaplain, she learned sign language, taught Calligraphy, and volunteered her time with the homeless in the Atlanta area. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Clayton Morris; and parents, James and Josie McClure. Survivors include her children, Jamie Lynn Morris, of Chickamauga, Ga., Sheri (Anthony) Eberhardt, of Covington, Ga., and Shawn Taj, of Marietta, Ga.; two sisters, Debby Cox, of Graysville, Tenn. and Donna Cates, of Rossville; two grandchildren, Anthony Tyler Eberhardt and Gabriel Berjees Taj; and nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Denny Whitesel officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
