Mary Jones

Mary Frances Thraikill Jones, 91, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at the Life Care of Hixson, after many years of failing health. She was born on July 25, 1922. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Maude Ellis and Fred L. Thrailkill Sr.; sister, Inez Everheart and Beatice Cheek; and brother, Fred Thrailkill Jr.; son, H. Douglas Jones Jr. She is survived by her son, M. Rick Jones (Connie); four grandchildren, Rodney Jones (Christy), of Charlotte, N.C; Kristen Mealor, of Atlanta, Syria Sinoski, of Texas and Cooper Jones, of Chattanooga; 10 great-grandchildren; and a longtime caregiver Essie Brown. The family would like to thank the staff of Life Care of Hixson. Mary was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. Receiving of family and friends will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2013, at the Memorial Gardens at Grace Episcopal Church for a memorial service conducted by The Rev. Susan Butler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Book of Remembrance at Grace Episcopal Church or Hospice of Chattanooga.
