John Brock

John Earl Brock, 70, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014. He was born to the late Homer C. and Mary Kelly Brock in Washington D.C. and moved to the North Georgia Area in 1968. He is a member of Newnan Springs United Methodist Church and served his country in the U.S. Army during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. John retired from Hutcheson Medical Center and Walmart from the paint department. He was active in the Rossville and Fort Oglethorpe Communities and enjoyed learning about history and writing poetry. John is survived by his children, John William Brock and Mary Elizabeth Brock; sisters, Joann Stanfield and Suzanne Colohan; brother, Ronald Brock; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Newnan Springs United Methodist Church at 78 Monanaw Ave. Rossville, GA 30741, with the Rev. John Mattox Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Newnan Springs United Methodist Church. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe.
