Ronald Byrd Sr.

Ronald "Ronnie" Sammy Byrd Sr. departed this life Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was born in Ringgold, Georgia to the late Dewey and Rosa Lee Byrd. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Byrd. Survivors include his children, Ron (Christy) Byrd, of Tunnel Hill, Chris (Christa) Byrd, of Dalton, Lisa (Joe) Nelms, of Lebanon, Tenn., Phillip Byrd, of Ringgold; siblings, Jody Collins, Donnie Byrd, Jerry Byrd, all of Ringgold; grandchildren, Austin, Maeghan, Makayla, James, Eli, Emma, Hannah, Jacob, Gage, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in the chapel with Pastor Joe Nelms officiating. Family will receive from 4-8 p.m. today and prior to the service on Tuesday here at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Arrangements are by Wallis-Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes-Ringgold, Ga.
