Joyce Reed

Joyce Thompson Reed passed on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, peacefully at home. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who did her best to leave you with a smile. She was born in Lynchburg, Va., on Feb. 12, 1937 and retired from Rock-Tenn Mill Division as "The Voice" / receptionist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Reed; her mother, Francis Rosenbusch; her brother, William "Bill" Rosenbusch. She is survived by her sons, Rev. Jay Reed (Ann), of Hixson, Jeffery Reed (Gloria), of Hixson, Jon Reed, of Venice, Fla. Her grandchildren include Lauren Kirk (Cameron), of Chattanooga, Jason Reed (Elizabeth), of Hixson, Josh and Julia Reed, of Hixson. A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Curtis Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
