Evelyn Peterson

Evelyn Presley Peterson, 92, of Hixson, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014, in a local hospital. Evelyn was a member of the greatest generation by working at Oak Ridge National Lab during World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Peterson, of Hixson; her parents, George and Irene Presley, of North Chattanooga; sisters, Betty Rodecker, of Hixson, Robbie McGarry, of St. Louis Park, Minn. Evelyn is survived by nieces, Nancy Commerford and Susan (Greg) Taylor; nephews, Kevin (Judy) McGarry and Robert (Sandra) Rodecker. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A graveside service for Evelyn will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wayland Stewart officiating.
