Ervin Rucker

Ervin George Rucker, 92, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at his residence. He was a WWII Army veteran. He retired from Wheland Foundry and was a member of Thankful Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shiloh and Annie Rucker Sr.; wife, Gertrude Rucker; son, Stanley Rucker Sr.; siblings, Clara Hicks, Susie Smith, Virginia Griffin, Estella Shropshire, Elelyna Rucker, Georgia Lou Preston, Johnny Rucker, Shiloh Rucker Jr. and Onedia Gordon. Survivors include one son, Larry (Nancy) Rucker Sr., of Ooltewah; daughter-in-law, Gloria Rucker, of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends. Visitation is today from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Charles Moore as the eulogist.
